Recommended Tools for this Kit:
Scissors
Needle Nose Pliers (2)
Round Nose Pliers
Wire Cutters
Fabric GS Hypo Cement (purple)
Cut
the leaf chain apart to separate the leaf charms.
Select
eight gemstones from the agate strand for dangles. String one gemstone onto a
headpin. Use your needle nose pliers to
bend the headpin above the beads.
Use
the round nose pliers to form a loop in the wire above the bead.
Use
your wire wrapping technique to wrap the wire loop closed and cut off any
excess wire. Repeat steps 2-4 to make eight
gemstone dangles.
Open one jump ring. String
on one gemstone dangle and two leaf charms.
Carefully close the jump ring.
Repeat to create eight leaf dangles.
Cut an eight inch piece of waxed linen. Pass four inches of the waxed linen and four
inches of the non-needle end of the Griffin cord through the button.
Tie
all the strands in a basic overhand knot about ¼ inch below the button. Then tie another overhand knot just over the
first knot.
Insert
the tip of the GS Hypo Cement into the knot and apply glue to secure.
Carefully cut off the
strands of waxed linen and the short strand of Griffin cord just below the
knot. DO NOT cut off the long strand of
Griffin cord.
String
on one 3mm faceted nugget, one 3mm hematite, one 4mm faceted nugget, one 4mm
matte hematite, four gemstones, one 3mm faceted nugget, and one jump leaf
dangle.
String on one 3mm
faceted nugget, four gemstones, one 4mm matte hematite, one 4mm faceted nugget,
one 3mm hematite and one 3mm faceted nugget.
String
on eleven 2mm square nuggets, one 3mm hematite, one 3mm faceted nugget, one 3mm
hematite and eleven 2mm square nuggets.
This completes one beaded unit.
Repeat the previous three steps to
make eight beaded units. If you have a
smaller wrist, you may need to use fewer beads, and if you have a larger wrist
you may need to use additional beads. We’ve included enough beads to make 8 ½
beaded units. Make sure the beads are
pushed all the way up to the button and there are no gaps. Fold the remaining waxed linen in half and
line the center of the linen up with the Griffin cord, just below the last
bead.
Place
the left strand of linen out to the left and the right strand of linen to the
right with the Griffin cord. Tie the two
right strands together directly below the last bead.
Take
both strands of waxed linen and the Griffin cord together...
…and
tie in an overhand knot, right on top of the knot in the last step.
Tie
another overhand knot, right on top of the knot from step 16. It should be very
secure.
Insert
the tip of the GS Hypo Cement into the knot and apply glue to secure.
Carefully
cut off the Griffin cord just below the knot.
DO NOT cut the waxed linen!
Tie
an overhand knot with both strands of waxed linen, about one inch below the knot from the last step. Make sure the button can
just pass between the knots.
Check
the size of the bracelet. We tied two additional overhand knots, spaced
to fit the button. You can do as many
or
few as you need for proper fit.
After
your final overhand knot, add one gemstone and one 3mm hematite bead to each
strand of linen. Tie an overhand knot
beneath the final bead on each strand, making sure to leave a bit of room for
the beads to move. Trim off the linen a
few millimeters below the last knot on each strand.
