Fall is finally here, and with the crisp weather comes a shift in wardrobe. I don't know about you, but I've been dreaming about tall boots and knitted ponchos for awhile now. Of course, as a jewelry person, I'm always interested in the new accessory trends to go with my new autumn clothing. Here is Part 1 of the hottest trends for Fall 2013/Winter 2014:
1. Winter White: Kiss the old rules good-bye! White after Labor Day has become a huge trend this year, with head to toe white showing up on this fall's runways and red carperts. You can incorporate this trend into your favorite designes by using a white-on-white pallet. Be sure to vary textures to create design interest: use some shiny, some matte, some opaque, some translucent. Chan Luu's five wrap leather bracelet is an excelent example.
2. Animal Themed Jewelry: Owls, squirrels, giraffes, you name it -- wildlife is on parade this autumn. I personally love owls, and have a few too many pairs of owl earrings, similar to the pair shown here:

3. Chandelier Earrings: I'm thrilled about the return of my absolute favorite earring shape! Chandeliers really work well for beaders, and can be created using a variety of techniques, including stitching, weaving and wire wrapping.
