Steal My Heart Earrings

 STEAL MY HEART EARRINGS

It's the new year, and it's time to start thinking about hearts.  Yes, Valentine's Day is just around the corner... But I'm not ready for pink and red ooey-gooey hearts just yet.  I'm thinking more of traditional Valentine's jewelry in non-traditional colors, like TEAL!  (Yes, I'm kind of always in the mood for teal, it's true.)  Of course, you aren't at all limited by my choice -- pick your favorite Swarovski hearts and some coordinating bicones, and you're in business!

Required Materials:
10mm Swarovski hearts in blue zircon (2)
6mm Swarovski bicone crystals in light turquoise (2)
4mm Swarovski bicone crystals in crystal AB (4)
4mm Swarovski bicone crystals in pacific opal (4)
4mm Swarovski bicone crystals in blue zircon (4)
5mm 19ga jump ring (2)
1.5 inch 24 gauge head pin (12)
3 inch piece of 24 gauge wire (2)
sterling silver ear wires (2)
round nose pliers
needle nose pliers (2)
wire cutters

Instructions:

About 1/3 of the way down one 3 inch piece of wire, use your round nose pliers to form a large loop.

Slide the Swarovski heart onto the loop, so it dangles freely.  Support the loop with your needle nose pliers, and wrap the short wire around the long wire several times.

Cut off any excess wire and tap the end of the wire down.  String on one 6mm bicone crystal.

Above the bead, use your round nose pliers to form a smaller loop.

Wrap the loop closed as well.  Cut off any excess wire.

String one 4mm blue zircon crystal onto one headpin.  Above the bead, use your round nose pliers to form a small loop.

 Wrap the loop.  Cut off any excess wire.

 Repeat this process for a second 4mm blue zircon bead, two 4mm crystal AB beads and two 4mm pacific opal beads.  Open one jump ring and string loops on in the following order: blue zircon, crystal AB, pacific opal, heart pendant, pacific opal, crystal AB, pacific opal. 

Carefully close the jump ring.

Open the ring at the bottom of the ear wire, and string the closed jump ring onto the ear wire.

Close the ring on the ear wire to finish the earring.  Repeat all steps for the second earring.
