There's a hot trend that's been catching my eye for the last few weeks. It's so simple, and yet looks amazing with a wide variety of beads. Guess what -- it's BRAIDING! Yep, the time-honored basic braid. I'm using three strands of Griffin silk (the stuff we use to knot pearls), and I'm stringing all of my beads on to one strand. Each time the beaded strand is in my left hand I slide up a bead and then braid around it. Try it!
This necklace is 40 inches of coral and amazonite on brown silk.
This detail of brown silk and amazonite shows how the braid should look.
Brown pearls and black hills amazonite look just as amazing!
